Goth metal masters Beseech have returned from a decade long absence with a blistering new album, ‘My Darkness, Darkness’ set for release on 4 March 2016 via Despotz Records.
The band are premiering the new single, a cover of the classic Jimmy Webb track, “Highwayman” through AXS.com. The single is the second for the band from the ‘My Darkness, Darkness’ album, following last month’s “Beating Pulse.”
About the decision to cover the song, the band says, ““When we gave “Highwayman” the Beseech treatment, we were totally blown away by the darkness that came through in this amazing country song. This song is larger than life and deserves nothing but very deep, deep respect. The original version is written by the legendary songwriter Jimmy Webb, but we discovered the song through a live version by Johnny Cash.””
The single is on digital outlets today and can be purchased on iTunes or streamed on Spotify
